Your levy dollars now eligible for R&D tax credits!

Winter cereal growers in Saskatchewan are now eligible to claim research & development (R&D) tax credits through the federal government’s “Scientific Research & Experimental Development” Tax Incentive Program. This program uses tax incentives to encourage Canadian businesses to conduct research and development in Canada.

Producers and farm corporations can claim these tax credits for the SWCDC fiscal year ending July 31, 2018. Farm corporations are also eligible to claim the Saskatchewan Research & Development Tax Credit.

SWCDC supports basic, applied and experimental research in Canada into developing superior winter cereal varieties suitable for western Canada, optimizing agricultural production practices to enhance the environmental and economic value of winter cereals and improving resistance to disease and insects.
